It has been an honor…

We can finally close this chapter! Of the 39 absentee ballots returned, 22 were for me bringing the final vote for Ward 7 to: 369-322. I extend my official congratulations to my opponent Michael for his success, as a constituent I hope he does well to serve the needs of all the residents of our city and I wish him good luck.

I am so absolutely proud of the race we ran for so many reasons. We put in the work. We knocked hundreds of doors from April to November, nearly 500 myself- and sometimes with my boys in tow! We made a thousand phone calls. We supported local business with every aspect- from door hangers and mailers to signs everything was printed and paid for locally. And we did all of that while working, while finishing my graduate degree, while being a mom. That is BONKERS! Integrity, transparency and running on myself & my ideas, not on attacks or mischaracterization, was central to my campaign and I can confidently, proudly say we ran a clean race. I am humbled and grateful for all of the support I have received throughout this process and I am looking forward to continuing to work for our community. Keep following the journey and stay tuned, there is so much more to come. I will leave you with this picture for now of me just after voting for myself in the primary, seeing my name on the ballot for the first time will always remain on of my most surreal and uplifting moments. Women can do it. We can do it. We just need to keep going! Onward!
